Looking for a guide on fixing a camera lens? For many photographers, nothing is more frustrating than knowing something is wrong with your camera. When many of us see an error message appear on our camera, the first thing we want to do is trying fixing it ourselves. If it is not something that we can fix quickly, we want to send it to the manufacturer to deal with since our phone is under warranty. Sometimes, however, the problems seeming simple, at least until the manufacturer tells you that it is not something they will fix, recommending replacing your camera lens. Before you go the route of replacing your camera lens or your camera, we recommend trying some of our tips!

Review of Fixing Camera Lens Issues

When many of us hear that something is wrong with our camera, we immediately panic. The main reason that most people see an error on their camera is dirt in the barrel of their camera. If you baby your camera, the main reason this happens is the use of a camera case, since these cases hold dirt and fabric fibers. If you see an error message come on your screen, don’t worry, we have some easy tips to help!

Avoid Replacing Camera Lenses

Here are our quick-fix tips to avoid replacing a camera lens for your camera. Most issues can easily be fixed with the below guide. Even though some guides will tell you to open up your camera, we recommend NOT doing this. This can destroy your camera or void your warranty to any type of damage. If these don’t work, make sure to get a hold of a repair facility.

Best Lens Repair Fixes

1)   Fix Number 1 – Change the Battery in your camera. If they are rechargeable and over a year old, get new batteries. Sometimes old batteries are enough to confuse your camera and cause an error message.

2)   Fix Number 2 – Take advantage of your factory reset. Sometimes an issue could be due to a corrupted driver in your camera. If this is the case, your camera will be back to normal after a reset.

3)  Fix Number 3 – If your camera will not turn on or the above doesn’t work, plug your camera into your computer. Most software comes with a restore and will give you access to your digital camera to do a simple repair on the software. This may include e installing new drivers.

4)   Fix Number 4 – Use compressed air on your camera. This will get rid of any dirt or stand on the barrel of your lens. Make sure that you blow into all the gaps. For this digital camera repair tip, you can also use a hairdryer without heat.

5)   Fix Number 5 – Clean gaps out with a sewing needle and piece o f paper. If the compressed air or blow dryer method doesn’t work, try this to get out any grit or sands from the barrel.
